Kate was born to a Missourian mother and Panamanian-New-Yorker father, who raised her in Massachusetts. In 2017, she decided to bring her passion for social justice into her day job and pursue a career in policy advocacy. Before joining Liberation in a Generation, Kate worked as a senior program manager at the Groundwork Collaborative, using writing, polling, training, and policy campaigns to shift popular narratives about the economy. Previously, she managed the email team at the Hub Project, where she worked on a portfolio of issue campaigns at the intersection of democracy and the economy. Within and outside of paid labor, Kate is most interested in work that thwarts oppressive structures and promotes thriving for Black people.
