Kathy Diaz

Grassroots Partnerships Coordinator

Kathy is a person raised by the south, the north, a Colombian mother and all of their community. Her biological and chosen family, including ancestors and the kids that are yet to come, are a huge reason why she does this work. Her varying experiences make it inevitable that she organizes in an intersectional capacity. She believes that we are meant to live in harmony with the living land and all of its inhabitants. She is committed to building bridges to unite and organize our gente so that collectively we can create a more equitable, dignified space to live in.

Her organizing work has been focused on immigrant rights issues, demonstrating that with or without papers Latinx folks have political power, language, racial and climate justice. Prior to working at LibGen she worked with Mijente as a Regional Field Organizer and County Coordinator. During the time she was also at Siembra NC as an Organizer. Kathy holds a Bachelor in Social Work from Georgia State University.
