Katie Ly

Program Coordinator

As the Program Coordinator of Liberation in a Generation, Katie provides both administrative support for the co-Executive Directors and critical support to the programmatic and operations work of our organization.

Katie’s commitment to advancing social justice and equity is rooted in community. Growing up in the Bay Area, their personal identities and exposure to others have shaped their vision for change. Katie began her organizing journey in Oakland, California, where she transformed issues of structural violence as a Youth Organizer at BAY-Peace: Better Alternatives for Youth and a Research Fellow at Urban Peace Movement. Before starting at Liberation in a Generation, Katie also worked in the field of policy research at the local and national level. They managed constituent services and the legislative agenda for Berkeley City Councilmember Ben Bartlett as his Legislative Director. In addition, Katie spearheaded policy publications and research requests for state legislators at State Innovation Exchange. Katie holds a B.A. in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
